Metrax Primedic Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (LiFePO4) for Defimonitor XDxe (m290) series UN3480 99135 97311
This is a rechargeable LiFePO4 battery, model 99135/97311, designed by Metrax Primedic specifically for the Defimonitor XDxe m290 series monitor-defibrillator. It is designed to meet the dual "monitoring + defibrillation" requirements of this series of devices.
Performance and Safety Highlights
1. Cycle Life Advantage: As a LiFePO4 battery, it boasts a cycle life exceeding 1500 cycles, significantly higher than other batteries such as lithium-ion batteries. Based on clinical "one charge/discharge per day" usage, it can be used stably for over 4 years, reducing long-term replacement costs.
2. Upgraded Safety Design: In addition to standard overcharge and over-discharge protection, it features additional "needle penetration/crush protection." The LiFePO4 battery exhibits higher thermal stability; even if the battery casing is damaged or the cell is punctured, it will not catch fire or explode, making it suitable for accidental collision risks in emergency situations.
3. Charge/Discharge Characteristics
Supports "fast charging," reaching 80% in 1.5 hours with the original charger. Shallow charging and discharging will not affect battery life, suitable for quick recharging during clinical breaks.

Q1: When using fast charging mode, the charger indicator light stays red, and the battery temperature continues to rise. What could be causing this?
A1: There are two possible causes: abnormal communication between the charger and the battery, or a deviation in the battery's internal fast charging protection threshold. Immediately disconnect the power and allow the battery to cool down naturally before using slow charging mode. If slow charging still results in overheating, check if the battery is bulging. If bulging is present, replace the battery immediately.
Q2: After 3 years of cycle use, the battery life is normal (8 hours) when fully charged during monitoring, but a low battery alarm appears immediately after one defibrillation cycle. Is this a battery malfunction?
A2: This is a typical sign of battery cell aging. It can still be used for routine monitoring. For defibrillation, the battery needs to be replaced. During routine battery maintenance, add a "defibrillation capability test." If the remaining charge is below 70% after one discharge, the battery needs to be replaced to avoid affecting the defibrillation effect.
