What is an HDPE Geomembrane?
YIXING SHENZHOU HDPE geomembrane is a synthetic, waterproof lining
material manufactured primarily from high-density polyethylene
resin. It is one of the most widely used geosynthetics in the world
for creating impermeable barriers in various engineering and
environmental projects . Its primary purpose is to prevent the
migration of liquids, gases, or contaminants, thereby protecting
soil and groundwater from pollution .
The material is typically produced in sheets or rolls, with
standard thicknesses ranging from 0.3 mm to 3.0 mm and widths that
can extend up to 8 meters . It usually contains about 97.5%
polyethylene resin and 2.5% carbon black. The carbon black is a
critical additive that provides superior resistance to ultraviolet
(UV) radiation, preventing the material from degrading when exposed
to sunlight .
