Product Overview
A thermocouple temperature probe uses the thermoelectric effect to
measure temperature. It consists of two different metal wires
joined at one end, generating a voltage corresponding to
temperature differences.
Construction
- Wires: Made of two different conductive metals (commonly copper,
nickel, chromel, alumel)
- Junction: Measuring junction where wires join, connected to
measuring device
- Insulation: High-temperature resistant materials (ceramic,
fiberglass)
- Sheath: Protective metal or ceramic casing
Working Principle
- Seebeck Effect: Temperature gradient generates thermoelectric
voltage
- Measurement: Voltage converted to temperature using calibration
data
- Protection: Metal sheath and mineral insulation protect from
EMI/RFI and corrosion
