Low Noise VPSA Oxygen Generator with Long Maintenance Cycle and Modular Design for Industrial Use

With molecular sieves as the core separation medium, VPSA Oxygen Generator efficiently separates oxygen and nitrogen components in the air through the alternation of low-pressure adsorption and vacuum desorption, producing oxygen whose purity meets industrial and medical standards. Its core advantages include low power consumption (0.32-0.38kWh/Nm³), fast start-up and simple maintenance. The modular design enables it to adapt to different production capacity requirements.

    Pre-Installation Preparation and Site Requirements

Before installing a VPSA Oxygen Generator, the site must meet strict environmental and structural requirements. First, the installation area should be flat and solid, with a floor bearing capacity of at least 5kN/m² (for small units) to 15kN/m² (for large modular systems). The foundation should be constructed with C30 concrete, and steel plates (thickness ≥12mm) should be installed to fix the equipment, preventing vibration during operation.

The site must be well-ventilated, with a ventilation rate of ≥3 times/hour, to dissipate the heat generated by the blower and vacuum pump (the surface temperature of the motor can reach 60-80°C). It should be away from humid environments (relative humidity ≤85%) and dust sources (such as cement plants or construction sites); if unavoidable, a dustproof and dehumidification device should be installed. Additionally, the site should have sufficient space: the distance between the equipment and walls or other obstacles should be ≥1.5 meters to facilitate maintenance and pipeline installation.

    Step-by-Step Installation Process

The installation of the generator involves three key stages: equipment positioning, pipeline connection, and electrical installation. In the positioning stage, use a level to adjust the equipment to ensure it is horizontal (with a deviation ≤0.5mm/m) to avoid uneven stress on the adsorption tower. The blower and vacuum pump should be fixed with anchor bolts to reduce vibration transmission.

For pipeline connection, use stainless steel pipes (304 or 316L) to resist corrosion by oxygen. The pipeline should be installed with a slope of 1‰-3‰ to prevent condensed water accumulation. Sealing materials such as PTFE gaskets should be used at the joints to ensure airtightness—after connection, a pressure test should be conducted (test pressure = 1.2 times the working pressure) for 30 minutes, with no pressure drop allowed.

In electrical installation, the power supply should meet the equipment requirements (usually 380V/50Hz three-phase four-wire system), and a dedicated circuit with a leakage protector (rated leakage current ≤30mA) should be configured. The grounding resistance of the equipment should be ≤4Ω to prevent electrical hazards. The PLC control system should be connected to the factory’s central control room (if needed) via a communication cable (such as Modbus protocol) to realize remote monitoring.

    Routine Maintenance and Fault Handling

Routine maintenance is crucial to ensure the stable operation of the VPSA Oxygen Generator. Daily maintenance includes checking the pressure gauge and flow meter readings to ensure they are within the set range (working pressure 0.1-0.3MPa, flow rate ±5% of the rated value), and cleaning the air pre-filter (using compressed air to blow back the filter element) to avoid clogging.

Weekly maintenance involves inspecting the seals of the adsorption tower and pipelines for air leakage (using soapy water to check for bubbles) and checking the lubricating oil level of the blower and vacuum pump (the oil level should be between the upper and lower limits of the oil sight glass). Monthly maintenance includes calibrating the oxygen purity sensor (using standard gas with known purity) and testing the pressure relief valve to ensure it opens normally when the pressure exceeds 1.1 times the working pressure.

For common faults: if the oxygen purity drops below 90%, first check whether the air pre-filter is clogged (replace the filter element if necessary), then inspect the molecular sieve for moisture absorption (regenerate or replace the sieve if the adsorption tower has water accumulation); if the equipment vibrates excessively, check whether the anchor bolts are loose or the motor bearing is worn (replace the bearing if there is abnormal noise). Molecular sieves should be replaced every 5-8 years, depending on usage intensity—for example, continuous operation 24 hours a day requires replacement every 5 years, while intermittent operation can extend to 8 years.
