The crankshaft is a core component of the engine, responsible for
converting the reciprocating motion of the piston into rotational
motion, outputting driving torque, and driving the valve train and
other accessories, thereby providing driving power for the

Oil passages are typically provided inside the crankshaft, through
which engine oil flows to lubricate the main journals and
connecting rod journals. Depending on the number of main journals,
crankshafts are divided into two types: fully supported (with one
more main journal than the number of cylinders) and non-fully
supported (with the number of main journals less than or equal to
the number of cylinders). Fully supported crankshafts have better
strength and stiffness.
