Perkins 400 Series—403A-11, 403A-15, 403D-11, 403D-15, 403F-11 and
403F-15—as well as the 404A-22 and 404D-22/22TA turbocharged
diesels, all of which descend directly from the T4.236 and AT4.236
4.0 L architecture. These engines continue to power agricultural
tractors, combine harvesters, generator sets and industrial
machinery worldwide, where accurate coolant-temperature feedback is
essential for emissions compliance and engine protection.
Technical specifications:
Thread M14 × 1.5, hex 19 mm, probe length 42 mm. The sensing
element is a negative-temperature-coefficient (NTC) thermistor
calibrated 2.5 kΩ ±2 % at 25 °C, falling to 120 Ω ±3 % at 100 °C,
delivering a seamless 0–5 V ratiometric signal to the engine
control module.
Material & performance features:
The probe shell is precision-machined from lead-free brass and
nickel-plated to resist corrosion from glycol-based coolants. The
sensing tip is over-moulded in glass-filled PPS, then potted in
high-temperature epoxy for complete immunity to vibration, moisture
and electromagnetic interference.
