Application:
The 185246060 oil pressure sensor is engineered for the Perkins
102.05, 103.07, 103.10, 103.13, 103.15, 104.19, 104.22 and 402D-05
four-cylinder turbocharged diesels, and is directly retro-fittable
to the Perkins T4.236 and AT4.236 4.0 L engines. These power units
are widely used across Massey Ferguson 2400, 3400, 5400 and 6400
Series agricultural tractors, combine harvesters, 40–100 kVA
generator sets, tele-handlers, skid-steer loaders and light
construction machinery. In these demanding applications the sensor
threads into the main oil gallery and continuously monitors
lubricating-oil pressure, transmitting a real-time 0–5 V analogue
signal to the engine control unit. Should pressure drop below the
calibrated safety threshold, the ECU triggers an immediate warning
lamp and can derate or shut down the engine to protect crankshaft
bearings, turbochargers and high-pressure fuel pumps from
catastrophic damage.
Technical specifications:
The unit is a three-wire piezo-resistive pressure transducer housed
in a brass body with 1/8" NPTF male thread and 19 mm hex, 58 mm
overall length and 70 g net weight. It measures 0–10 bar (0–145
psi) with ±2 % full-scale accuracy, outputs a linear 0.5–4.5 V
signal referenced to a 5 V supply and draws <10 mA at 12 V.
Material & performance features:
The sensing diaphragm is 17-4 PH stainless steel, laser-welded to
the brass body for absolute hermetic sealing and protected by a
sintered brass snubber that damps pressure pulsations and prevents
oil-borne debris from reaching the element. Internal circuitry is
over-moulded in high-temperature PPS resin, achieving IP67 ingress
protection and surviving 500 thermal-shock cycles from –40 °C to
+125 °C without calibration drift.
