Application:
The 130506300 priming pump is a hand-actuated lift pump that sits
directly on the fuel filter head of Perkins 400 Series engines,
specifically the 402D-05, 403D-07, 403D-11 and 403D-15 models used
in compact tractors such as the Massey Ferguson 1726E and 1734E,
mini-excavators, skid-steer loaders, mobile lighting towers,
welders and 20–60 kVA generator sets. It is also found on earlier
4.236 and 4.248 family engines when those engines have been updated
with the 400 Series filter housing, so its service range spans
agricultural, construction, materials-handling and stationary power
markets from the late 1990s to the present day.
Technical specifications:
The pump body is a one-piece aluminium die-casting, overall length
63 mm, barrel diameter 28 mm, with a moulded acetal resin plunger.
A single Viton O-ring and fluoropolymer back-up ring on the plunger
rod provide leak-free operation at fuel temperatures up to 100 °C
and suction pressures down to –0.6 bar. The unit delivers 0.8 cm³
of fuel per full stroke, generating 1.2 bar discharge pressure with
three to four strokes after filter change, thereby filling the
filter canister and low-pressure gallery in less than 15 seconds.
The pump is M14 × 1.5 threaded into the filter head and sealed by a
captive copper crush washer; weight 65 g.
Material & performance features:
The aluminium casting is hard-anodised to MIL-A-8625 Type II for
corrosion resistance in high-humidity environments, while the
plunger rod is stainless steel for zero galling and long-term
chemical compatibility with ultra-low-sulphur diesel and biodiesel
blends up to B20. Internal check valves are moulded from
ethanol-resistant fluorocarbon elastomer, giving rapid re-prime
after filter service and eliminating the need for external bleeding
screws. All sealing elastomers are certified to SAE J30R9 for fuel
immersion, ensuring reliable cold-start capability down to –30 °C.
