Application:
The valve-seat insert U10136470 is machined as the exhaust seat for
Perkins 404D-22/404D-22T 2.2 L three- and four-cylinder diesels
used in 25-60 kVA generator sets (FG Wilson P22-5, Atlas-Copco QAS
45), compact wheel loaders, mini-excavators and forklift trucks
where space and emission compliance demand a cooled, high-velocity
seat. The identical insert is also listed for Caterpillar C1.1/C1.5
and JCB 444 EcoMax builds, so one part number services
agricultural, construction and power-generation fleets worldwide.
Technical specifications:
OD 38.00 mm, depth 7.5 mm, 45° seat angle, 1.5 mm seating width;
interference fit 0.06-0.08 mm for cast-iron heads, so the seat can
be installed with a standard driver and finished to 37.90 mm ID
after pressing. Concentricity is held within 0.02 mm to prevent
valve run-out, and the lower corner is radiused 0.3 mm to eliminate
stress concentration when the head undergoes 220 bar peak cylinder
pressure.
Material & performance features:
Produced from a high-chromium Co-Cr-Mo tool steel (≥45 HRC after
heat treatment) containing 2.8 % C, 30 % Cr, 1.2 % Mo and 0.8 % V,
the seat is vacuum-sintered to full density and then tempered at
580 °C to give a hot hardness of 38 HRC at 700 °C. A controlled
0.05 % phosphorus addition promotes secondary graphite for
self-lubrication, while the lapped 45° face offers a 1.2 µm Ra
finish that beds in within 15 minutes of first fire.
