    Material

    This product is a seamless, cold‐drawn carbon steel heat‐exchanger tube with embedded “G-Type” fins mechanically formed into the outer wall of the base tube. The fins (typically aluminium, copper or steel) are secured in deep machined grooves in the parent tube wall to provide enhanced surface area and heat‐transfer performance.

    • Base tube: seamless cold‐drawn carbon steel tube (e.g. to specification ASTM A179 / ASME SA179)

    • Fin Type: G‐Type Embedded (grooved and back‐filled fin strip)

    • Typical outer diameter range: ~ 16–63 mm (0.63″–2.5″) for base tube; fin height and fin pitch vary depending on the design.

    • Typical fin height: up to ~ 19 mm, fin thickness ~0.4 mm for G-type fin tube.

    • Tube length: up to ~15 m (≤ 15 m) typical in this design.

    • The embedded fin construction secures the fin strip in a mechanical groove in the base tube, ensuring strong fin adhesion, minimal fin detachment, and excellent stability under thermal cycling.

    • Increased effective outside surface area compared to bare tubes — thereby improving external heat-transfer coefficient when the outside fluid (often air or gas) has low h-value.

    • The G‐type fin tube enables high heat‐transfer efficiency in applications where heat is transferred from a fluid inside the tube to a gas/air outside (or vice-versa) and the tube outside coefficient dominates.

    Application Areas

    General application field: industrial heat-exchanger systems (including condensers, air-coolers, gas coolers, waste-heat recovery units)
    Specific use cases in that field:

    • In air-cooled heat-exchanger units, the embedded fin tubes serve as the tube bundle over which ambient air flows across the fins, improving cooling of process fluid inside the tube.

    • In steam or hot-gas condensers, the finned tubes provide enhanced outer surface for condensing vapour on the outside (or absorbing cooling air) while fluid flows within the base tube.
