Operating Principle of Radar Level Sensor
A radar level sensor emits a focused microwave pulse that travels
at the speed of light toward the measured substance. When the pulse
reaches the material surface, part of the signal is reflected back
to the sensor's antenna.
Key Process:
Signal Transmission: Antenna emits microwave pulse
Reflection: Signal reflects from material surface
Reception: Same antenna receives reflected signal
Calculation: Time delay between transmission and reception is measured
Measurement Principle:
The time delay is directly proportional to the distance between
antenna and material surface. This relationship enables precise
calculation of level height through accurate time measurement.
This non-contact technology provides reliable level monitoring
unaffected by environmental factors such as temperature variations
or process conditions.
