Rollers Wet Pan Grinding Mill Ore Gold Grinding Mineral Mill Machine
Working Principle and Process:
1. Feeding: Ore crushed to a certain particle size (usually ≤30mm)
is mixed with water and continuously fed into the grinding plate
through the feed port.
2. Grinding: An electric motor drives the main shaft through a
reducer, causing the grinding plate to rotate at a low speed of
just over 20 revolutions per minute. Two massive grinding wheels
mounted on a gantry begin to rotate due to friction with the ore.
The immense weight of the grinding wheels (each weighing hundreds
of kilograms to a ton) exerts powerful squeezing and shearing
forces on the material at the bottom of the plate, grinding the ore
particles into a fine powder.
3. Amalgamation: During the grinding process, mercury is
continuously added to the grinding plate. Mercury has unique
wettability (selective wetting) for precious metals such as gold
and silver, selectively combining with exposed free gold particles
to form amalgam, thus enabling initial gold recovery.
4. Scraping and Discharging: A scraper mounted on the gantry
(driven by an independent small motor) continuously scrapes the
ground slurry toward the discharge port on the side of the disc for
the next enrichment or separation step.
5. Continuous Operation: The entire process is continuous, with ore
constantly added and slurry continuously discharged, ensuring
continuous production.
The core structure and components of a gold mill:
1. Frame: The gold mill consists of a sturdy steel or cast iron
structure, serving as the foundation of the entire machine.
2. Platen: The "worktable" of the gold mill is a large, circular
plate. Its interior is lined with a wear-resistant liner (such as
manganese steel or granite) to prevent wear and extend its life.
3. Rollers: Typically two, they are made of high-strength cast
iron, cast steel, or granite. They are the core components that
perform the grinding task, operating under their immense weight.
4. Spindle Drive System: This system includes the main motor,
reducer, gears, and spindle. Its function is to provide powerful
torque, driving the platen to rotate smoothly at extremely low
speeds.
5. Gantry: This system spans the platen, suspending the rollers and
mounting the scraper system. The rollers are mounted on the gantry
via bearings, allowing for free rotation.
6. Scraper System: Driven by a small motor, this system is
responsible for cleaning and directing the ground material to the
discharge port, ensuring continuous production.
7. Water Supply System: This system controls the amount of water
added during the grinding process to maintain optimal slurry
concentration.
