1.Supporting Planetary Gears
The planetary carrier serves as the central support structure for planetary gears. It holds the planetary gears in place, allowing them to be evenly arranged around the sun gear. The planetary gears are mounted on pins or shafts that are part of the carrier, enabling them to rotate freely while also revolving around the sun gear.

2.Transmitting Torque
It is responsible for torque transmission in the planetary gear system. When power is input through the sun gear, the planetary carrier distributes the torque to the planetary gears. The planetary gears then mesh with the ring gear, and the rotation of the planetary carrier, along with the interaction of the gears, transmits the torque from the input end (sun gear) to the output end (usually the ring gear or the carrier itself, depending on the specific gear system configuration), thus achieving power transmission and speed change.

3.Ensuring Load Distribution
The planetary carrier plays a crucial role in evenly distributing the load among the planetary gears. In the operation of the planetary gear system, the load applied to the sun gear is transferred to multiple planetary gears through the carrier. This evenly distributed load prevents any single planetary gear from bearing excessive stress, reducing wear and tear on individual gears and improving the overall durability and reliability of the gear system.
