Technical Specifications for Optical Fiber Cable
Optical fibre composite overhead ground wire (OPGW) is an overhead
ground wire containing optical fibre. It has multiple functions
such as overhead ground wire and optical communication. It is
mainly used for communication lines of 110KV, 220KV, 500KV, 750KV
and new overhead high-voltage transmission system. It can also be
used to replace the existing ground lines of the old overhead high
voltage transmission system, add the optical communication line,
transmit short time current and provide anti lightning protection.
Other structures can be customized on request.
1. Replace existing aerial ground wires, upgrading communication
lines of power systems.
2. Synchronous plan and design with ground wire when new aerial
power lines are to be constructed
3. Provide stainless tube fiber unit with optimal protection
4. Conduct large fault short-circuit current and providing
lightning protection
5. Suitable for application in hih fiber count and super high
voltage power lines
6. Match with favorable tension-sag of the diffluent grond wire.
Application
Optical fiber composite ground wire [OPGW] is suitable for
installation on new power lines with double function of ground wire
and communication. Especially for installation on normal voitage
and extra high voltage power lines. OPGW can replace conventional
ground wire of old power line with increasing fiber communication
function. They conduct short circuit current and provide lightning
resistance.

Packing and Shipping
The OPGW shall be tightly and uniformly wound on a strong wood-iron
reel which conforms to ANSI/AA 53-1981 or equal. The reel shall be
lagged with stout wood-iron battens so as to prevent the OPGW from
damage in ordinary shipping, handling, storage and stringing
operations.
