Product Overview
The iron and manganese removal filtration system utilizes a filter
medium crafted from specially processed and modified natural
minerals. This gray-green material has a particle size of 0.5–2.0
mm and a bulk density of 0.9. It demonstrates high sensitivity and
strong adsorption affinity toward iron and manganese ions in water,
effectively trapping them within its porous structure through
adsorption and ion exchange.
Once saturated, the filter medium can be regenerated by immersion
in a sodium hydroxide solution, restoring its original performance.
With reliable operation and strict adherence to regeneration
schedules, the system consistently meets iron and manganese
reduction targets. The filter material boasts a service life of up
to 50 years, requiring only a 2% annual replenishment to compensate
for losses. It does not require full replacement, avoids hardening
or fatigue issues, and remains effective across a wide pH range.
The system operates at low cost, produces clear effluent, and aids
in reducing various chemical, physical, toxicological, and heavy
metal indicators.
Working Principle
Groundwater containing iron and manganese is aerated or mixed with
an oxidant, initiating the oxidation of dissolved iron (Fe) and
manganese (Mn) ions. As water passes through the manganese sand
filter layer, contact oxidation occurs facilitated by both
biochemical and physical interactions on the filter surface. This
process effectively precipitates, retains, and adsorbs iron and
manganese ions.
Notably, in treating mildly contaminated manganese-containing
groundwater, iron bacteria not only contribute to iron and
manganese removal but also metabolize ammonia nitrogen, supported
by synergistic bacterial activity. This results in simultaneous
removal of ammonia nitrogen alongside iron and manganese.

1. Waterproof packing with the international export standard by
20ft, 40ft, 40hp container. Equipment Fittings, Electric Motor and
Power Cabinet will be packed in Wooden Case or Iron Box. Other
Equipment will be packed by Color-Stripes Plastic Cloth.
2. The whole plant machinery size are large as normal, so we will
use Waterproof cloth to pack all of them. The motor, gear box or
other easily damaged parts, we will put them into box. We have a
