Air Spring Applications-Vibrating Packaging Machines & Vibrating Screens

Vibrating packaging machines and vibrating screens are inherently strong vibration sources. They operate by using high-frequency, large-amplitude vibrations to package, sort, or screen materials (such as food, pharmaceuticals, chemical raw materials, ores, etc.). If this vibration is directly transmitted to the factory floor and building structure, it can cause a series of problems:

• To the Equipment: It can affect accuracy and stability, loosen fasteners, and reduce service life.
• To the Environment: It can generate significant noise pollution and affect employee health.
• To Buildings and Other Equipment: Vibration propagates through the foundation, interfering with the proper operation of surrounding precision instruments (such as laboratory equipment) and potentially causing long-term damage to the building structure.

How Air Springs Work:
Installing an air spring vibration isolation system between the base and foundation of these equipment is an extremely effective solution.

Vibration Isolation: Air springs have an extremely low natural frequency (typically as low as 1-3 Hz), while the excitation frequency of vibrating equipment is typically higher (e.g., 10-25 Hz). According to vibration transmissibility theory, when the natural frequency of a vibration isolation system is significantly lower than the excitation frequency, it can effectively block over 90% of vibration transmission to the foundation. The excellent low-frequency characteristics of air springs make their isolation efficiency far superior to traditional steel springs or rubber pads.

Automatic Leveling: During equipment operation, material distribution may be uneven, causing a shift in center of gravity and equipment tilt.

Air spring systems can be equipped with height control valves to automatically inflate or deflate each airbag, maintaining a constant level position and ensuring a consistent vibration trajectory and uniform screening/packaging results.

Protective Effect: During startup and shutdown, equipment may pass through a resonance zone, resulting in violent shaking. Air spring systems can use additional damping orifices or external dampers to suppress this transient resonant amplitude, thus protecting the equipment.
