How to Use:
1. **Hole Preparation:** Drill or punch a clean hole. The hole
diameter should be slightly larger than the rivet's shank diameter
(typically +0.05mm to +0.10mm) to allow for easy insertion.
2. **Insertion:** Insert the rivet into the pre-drilled hole, with
the hollow end protruding through the materials to be joined.
3. **Tool Setup:** Use a **semi-tubular rivet setting machine** or
a **specialized press**. Select a **concave die** (radiused or flat
anvil) that supports the rivet head and a **punch** that matches
the hollow end diameter.
4. **Setting:** Apply force via the punch. The punch causes the
hollow end of the rivet to flare out and form a **second head
(clinch)**, mechanically locking the materials together. The force
must be controlled to fill the die without cracking the material.
5. **Inspection:** A properly set rivet will have a formed head
that is symmetrical and approximately 1.5 times the shank diameter,
with the original flat head sitting perfectly flush.
