Product Description
Bottomless Cold Lamination Film is a specialized pressure-sensitive
adhesive film, supplied on a roll, that is designed to laminate
printed materials without the use of heat. Its defining characteristic is its "bottomless" design—it consists
of a single layer of film with adhesive and a release liner,
lacking the pre-sealed bottom edge found in standard pouches. This allows it to laminate objects of theoretically unlimited
length.
How It Works
The film is a multi-layer construction:
1.Top Layer: A clear, durable polyester (PET) or polypropylene (PP)
film. This provides the protection and finish.
2.Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive (PSA): A tacky adhesive layer that
bonds instantly upon application of pressure.
3.Release Liner: A paper or plastic backing sheet that protects the
adhesive until it is ready to be used. This liner is peeled off and discarded during the laminating
process.
4.The process requires a cold laminator machine (or can be done
manually with a squeegee for small jobs). The machine uses motorized rollers to apply consistent pressure,
bonding the adhesive to the substrate without heat.
Available Options
Width: Sold in various roll widths (e.g., 24", 36", 42", 54", 60")
to match printer and laminator sizes.
Thickness: Measured in "mils" (thousandths of an inch).
3 mil: Standard duty for most documents and indoor signage.
5 mil: Heavy duty for items requiring extra rigidity and protection
(e.g., menu boards).
1.5 - 2 mil: Light duty for flexible applications like vehicle
wraps where conformity is key.
Adhesive Type: Varies from Permanent (high-tack, difficult to
remove) to Removable (low-tack, for temporary applications).
