DIN968 is a standard for cross groove pan head self tapping screws
developed by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN). These
screws are commonly used for fastening connections between metal
sheets and non-metallic materials.
Features of DIN968 Screws:
The groove type of DIN968 standard self tapping screws is cross
groove, with variations such as H-type or Z-type. The screw can
have either a pointed tail (C-type) or a flat tail (F-type), making
it suitable for self tapping into hard materials. The head of the
screw is designed as a Pan Head structure with gaskets, and the
diameter specifications range from ST2.9 to ST6.3.
Features:
DIN968 self tapping screws are commonly crafted from carbon steel
(surface galvanized/nickel) and stainless steel (sus304
corrosion-resistant). For carbon steel grade 8.8, the minimum
tensile strength required is ≥ 400MPa, while stainless steel grade
A2-70 must meet a strength of ≥ 700MPa. These specifications align
with the technical details outlined in the international equivalent
standard ISO 7049.
