【 Product Description 】
A gear shifter mechanism (also known as a gear shifting mechanism
or transmission shifter) is a critical component in vehicles,
machinery, or equipment with manual transmissions system. It
enables the operator to select and engage different gear ratios,
controlling force transfer from the control handle in the driving
room to the gear box.

• Commercial vehicles (trucks, buses – often with longer lever
travels).

• Racing or performance vehicles (short-travel shifters for faster
gear changes).
【 Primary Functions】
• Gear selection: allows the operator to switch between forward
gears, reverse, neutral, or specific drive modes (e.g., “P” for
park, “D” for drive in automatic transmissions).
• Force transmission control: ensures smooth engagement and
disengagement of gears to avoid mechanical damage and maintain
operational efficiency.
• Safety features: incorporates self-locks (e.g., park locks, shift
interlocks) to prevent unintended gear changes or vehicle movement.
【 Working Principle 】
The operator moves the shift lever, which transmits force via
control cables to the transmission’s shift forks. Shift forks
engage/disengage gears by sliding synchronizers or dog clutches.
【 Dimensional Details 】
Phidix offers two installation stroke options for compatibility
with different shift ranges:
• 180mm – Ideal for shorter-throw or compact gear shift setups
• 205mm – Supports extended lever movement in heavy-duty or
commercial applications
Mounting is achieved via a 4-hole base, which adapts easily to flat
or inclined transmission housings.
