Introduction:

2-Acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS) is a water-soluble sulfonic acid group with strong anionicity, which makes it salt-resistant, high-temperature-resistant, dye-affinity, conductive, ion-exchangeable and highly tolerant to divalent cations; the amide group makes it have good hydrolysis stability, acid-base resistance and thermal stability; and the active double bond makes it have addition polymerization properties, and can produce copolymers with a variety of hydrocarbon monomers. 2-Acrylamide-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid has good polymerization properties, and can be homopolymerized by itself or copolymerized with other monomers to synthesize polymers with high relative molecular weights of millions or even tens of millions.

Uses:

2-Acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propane sulfonic acid (AMPS) has polymerizable vinyl groups and hydrophilic sulfonic acid groups in its molecules, and can be copolymerized with water-soluble monomers such as acrylonitrile and acrylamide, and water-insoluble monomers such as styrene and vinyl chloride. The introduction of hydrophilic sulfonic acid groups into the polymer makes fibers, films, etc. hygroscopic, water-permeable and conductive. It can be used in the papermaking industry and wastewater treatment.
