Hydrogenated polyisobutylene, also known as synthetic squalane, is
a saturated hydrocarbon polymer obtained by hydrogenation of
polyisobutylene. It is widely used in the fields of cosmetics,
personal care and industry. It usually appears as a colorless,
odorless, transparent liquid or semi-solid state, and its viscosity
varies with different molecular weights, ranging from low-viscosity
light oily substances to high-viscosity waxy substances. It has
good spreadability and can form a uniform film on the surface of
the skin or hair.
