►Probe Cleaning

Refer to the instructions in the manual and follow hospital guidelines and cleaning procedures.

1. Remove the probe from the system.

2. Wear sterile gloves to prevent infection.

3. Clean the transmitter with clean water or soapy water to remove dirt, or wipe the transmitter with a soft polyurethane sponge. Avoid using brushes as they may damage the transducer.

4. After rinsing, dry the transducer with a sterile cloth or gauze. Do not heat the transmitter to dry it out.

Soaking and Disinfection

1. Wear sterile gloves to prevent infection.

2. Clean the transducer before disinfection. Mindray recommends using the following solutions to sterilize transducers: Refer to the chemical manufacturer's manual for disinfectant concentration, disinfectant dilution and precautions for use. Do not immerse the transducer connector or adjacent cables in water or liquid solutions. Immerse the transmitter in the disinfectant solution for a short period of time according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

(For example, for Cidex OPA, the manufacturer recommends a minimum soak time of 12 minutes.) Please follow local regulations when selecting and using disinfectants.

The minimum distance between the cable connection and the water surface is 10 mm.

3. Rinse the transmitter with plenty of sterile water (approximately 2 gallons) for at least 1 minute to remove any chemical residue. Alternatively, rinse the transmitter using the rinsing method recommended by the disinfectant manufacturer.

4. After cleaning, wipe off any water on the transducer with a sterile cloth or gauze. Do not heat the transmitter to dry it out.

Disinfect with a spray or cloth

1. Wear sterile gloves to prevent infection.

2. After cleaning, spray or wipe the transmitter with disinfectant. Follow the disinfectant manufacturer's recommended exposure times and methods.

3. Remove any residue from the transducer using a soft cloth dampened with water.

4. After cleaning, wipe off any water on the transducer using a sterile cloth or gauze.

Before connecting the probe:

1• Inspect the probe and probe cable for any damage.

2• Visually inspect the test pins and system jack. Remove any dust or foam from the probe pins.

3•Hold the probe plug vertically with the cable facing up.

4•Turn the connector locking handle counterclockwise.
5•Align the plug with the probe port and gently push it into place.
6•Turn the locking handle clockwise until it is completely vertical to lock it.
7•Position the probe cable so that it is not resting on the floor.
