The sample is injected into the titration cell, and the unsaturated
hydrocarbon of the sample reacts with the bromine in the
electrolyte. By calculating the electricity consumed by
electrogeneration of bromine, the bromine value and bromine index
of the sample can be calculated according to Faraday's law of
electrolysis.
Electrolytic cell using special ceramic sand core, instead of the
previous ion exchange membrane, more convenient maintenance,
measurement sensitivity improved, the results are more stable,
accurate, good repeatability.
Bromine valence (or bromine number) is a measure of the amount of
unsaturated hydrocarbons in organic matter.
