Description
An electronic device called a digital multimeter (DMM) is used to
measure and show numerical values of electrical quantities
including frequency, voltage, current, and resistance. A digital
display screen and a series of circuits that transform input
signals into numerical form and show them on the screen are usually

Function
A DMM's digital display screen typically shows the numerical value,
unit, and symbol using a liquid crystal display (LCD) or
light-emitting diode (LED). A DMM may contain features like data
hold, maximum/minimum value recording, automated range switching,
backlight, and buzzer in addition to its standard measuring
capabilities. A USB or RS232 interface can be used to link some
sophisticated DMMs to a computer.
