The TC-PRS021 is used to replace a mechanical selector switch. Common applications include setting group control or control of multiple logic sub-circuits with user programmable logic. The element provides two control inputs. Step-up control allows step-by-step control through the selector position, with each control input pulse controlling one step at a time, such as a user programmable push button. A three-bit control input allows the selector position to be set by a position defined by a three-bit word.

The Honeywell Experion PKS C200 TC-PRS021 Control Processor module is designed to meet stringent operational and environmental requirements, ensuring reliable performance in industrial control applications.

The TC-PRS021 allows a new position to be pre-selected, which is applied after a time has expired or after confirmation of a separate input that has been set by the user. The selector position is stored in a non-volatile memory. On power-up, the previous position is stored or the relay is synchronized with the existing three-bit word set by the user. Basic alarm functions are used in abnormal conditions, such as the three-bit control input being out of range.
