In recent years, two different design concepts, CTP (Cell-to-Pack) and CTC (Cell-to-Chassis), have sparked heated discussions inside and outside the industry around the structural design of power batteries. This article will compare and analyze the two power battery structure design concepts, CTP and CTC, and discuss their advantages and disadvantages and their impact on the power battery industry.

CTP(Cell-to-Pack)

CTP is a design concept that integrates a single cell directly into a battery pack. In the CTP structure, the battery cell is specially designed and assembled to directly become a battery module, eliminating the traditional module assembly process. This design concept reduces the complexity of the battery system, reduces the loss of energy density, and improves the overall energy efficiency. The CTP structure of the battery pack can be more compact, reduce space waste, and at the same time have certain advantages in safety and heat dissipation.

CTC(Cell-to-Chassis)

CTC is to directly embed the battery cell into the chassis structure of the vehicle to realize the integrated design of the battery and the chassis. This design concept can make the battery cell more compactly installed in the vehicle chassis, improving the structural strength and stability of the whole vehicle. Compared with traditional on-board batteries, the CTC structure can effectively reduce the weight of the vehicle and improve the energy efficiency and performance of the vehicle. In addition, the CTC structure is also conducive to the thermal management and heat dissipation of the battery, and improves the safety and stability of the battery system.
