Proper temperature control ensures optimal material flow and fill, preventing issues such as short shots, flow marks, or incomplete part filling. Temperature control also helps ensure consistent material properties and dimensional accuracy in the final parts.


    Melting and Homogenization:

    The temperature must be carefully controlled during the melting process to ensure complete melting and homogenization of the plastic material. Insufficient melting can result in unmelted particles or inconsistent material properties, leading to defects in the molded parts. Proper temperature control during the melting phase ensures uniform melting and mixing of additives, enhancing material homogeneity and the overall quality of the molded parts.


    Cooling and Solidification:

    After the molten plastic is injected into the mold, temperature control is crucial during the cooling and solidification phase. Proper cooling rates and uniform cooling help prevent issues such as warping, shrinkage, or part distortion. Controlling the temperature allows for consistent solidification throughout the part, ensuring dimensional stability and minimizing internal stresses. Temperature control also affects the part’s crystallinity and microstructure, which can impact its mechanical properties.

    The key steps of the injection molding cycle are:



    Clamping:The two sides of the mold are closed and clamped shut.



    Injection:The material is fed into the machine and pushed towards the mold. While this is happening, the material is melted by heat and pressure. The plastic is then injected into the mold — this is called the “shot.”



    Cooling:The plastic in the mold cools and solidifies into the shape of the part.



    Ejection:After the part cools, it is ejected from the mold.



    Injection Moulding Process:


    Plastic injection moulding allows to produce large numbers of parts with great accuracy and A quick cycle times from multi-cavity tools.

    The process of injection mould involves a certain amount of polymer materials being heated, melted, and injected into a mould under high pressure. Further into the process, main units of the injection moulding machine are:


    1. feed hopper;
    2. heated barrel;
    3. crew (known as the injection unit);
    4. clamp unit (which holds the mould together under the injection pressures);
    5. ejection unit (which removes the part from the mould).

    According to the structure and technical analysis of the shell, the shell has an outer groove and an inner groove structure, and the two

    groups of inner groove are located in the fixed die part and the moving die part respectively. The mold structure needs to use external core

    pulling and internal core pulling mechanism to form grooves to meet the molding requirements of the shell.
