Factors that Define Quality in Pocket Springs
Not all pocket spring systems are created equal. The quality and
feel depend on several factors:
Spring Count: The total number of springs in the mattress. A higher count (e.g.,
2000+ for a King size) means
more springs can work in a smaller area, providing more precise,
detailed contouring and support.
Spring Height: Taller springs (e.g., 15-20cm) are often used for a plusher,
deeper compression feel. Shorter springs
(e.g., 10-14cm) can feel firmer and more supportive.
Wire Gauge: This refers to the thickness of the steel wire. A lower gauge number means a thicker, firmer spring
(e.g., 13-gauge). A higher gauge number means a thinner, softer spring (e.g., 18-gauge).
Number of Coils (Turns): More coils (e.g., 5-turn instead of 4-turn) can make the spring
