A pipe base screen, also known as a double-layer screen, is a kind
of sand control screen that combines the hydraulic efficiency of a
continuous slot wedge wire screen with the strength of a pipe. This
screen is a new generation of well screen that has been developed
in recent years. It consists of a sand control screen, a perforated
pipe, a slotted casing and a stainless steel or carbon steel wire
mesh base. This screen is designed for sand control and water
filtration and is particularly suited for both vertical and
horizontal boreholes. It is a high-efficiency sand control and
water filtration screen for both shallow and deep wells, vertical
and horizontal boreholes or sand control and water filtration in
bore wells. It is a good substitute of the traditional sand control
screen for wells with sandy soils or a muddy bottom. Its main
functions include: sand retention, formation sand removal and
production retaining, can be used in oil or gas well drilling in
many countries. This sand screen is using stainless steel base pipe
or API 5CT carbon steel casing inside and wire screen jacket to
enhance the capacities and high tensile strength loads for deep
wells. Its strength is superior to that of a single-layer screen,
thus it can be more reliable than a single-layer screen. It’s
unique construction and can be used in open hole, standalone or
gravel-pack wells, which provides excellent service for oil or gas
well drilling.Pipe based screens are manufactured with strict
quality standards to be at par with international standards. The
screen jackets are wedge wire screen pipe with Vee-Wire welded on
support rods. Each intersection point of these wires is fusion
welded. These jackets are then mounted over base pipe (API Casing,
tubing, line pipe, etc.) which is perforated to ensure flow
performance, and then both ends of jacket are welded on to the base
pipe. This type of screen pipe can be a combination of multiple
base pipes and multiple screen jackets.
Feature
1.Perfect integral strength and strong anti-deformation ability.
The integral strength of base pipe with drilled holes is merely
2~3% less than standard casing or tubing. So it can withstand
compression deformation from stratum with sufficient integral
strength. Even if local deformation occurs, the gap of compressed
part will not be enlarged. It has been proved to be highly reliable
on sand control.
2.High flow capacity. The jacket is made of vee wire well screen
this allow more water or oil to enter at much lesser frictional
head loss and the efficiency of well is improved appreciably.
3.Slot with high density, low flow resistance. Slot density are 3~5
times as traditional slotted screen, with low flow resistance. It
is conducive to increase production of oil or gas.
4.More choice: The screen jacket material can be stainless steel or
low carbon steel, it is can as per your requirement.
