Metal To Rubber Bonding Adhesive Cover Coating
DESCRIPTION:
Thinkbond 27MS is a lead-free bonding agent for the bonding of
rubber compounds to metals and other solid materials under
vulcanization conditions.
Thinkbond 27MS is especially suitable for the adhesion of compounds
difficult to bond and of low hardness.
Thinkbond 27MS can be used as a one-coat bonding agent or as a
covercement over a primer such as Thinkbond 11H.

HOW TO PREPARE THE SURFACE:
Prepare the metal surface properly by removing completely oil,
grease and dirt.
Blasting the surface with grit blasting steel so that the surface
roughness is greater than 15 µm.
For aluminum surfaces, we recommend the use of aluminum oxide as
abrasive.
Clean again the substrate to remove dust from blasting residues.
Thinkbond 27MS can be applied on surfaces treated by chemical
processes such as galvanizing, phosphating, KTL...
Application:
Brushing:
Dilution ratio: use undiluted
Drying time: approx. 30 min at 20 ºC
Stirring: stir before and during use
Spraying with air:
Diluent: e.g.xylene or toluene
Dilution ratio: 1 p.b.w. bonding agent+0.3-0.6 p.b.w. diluent
Viscosity: 30-90mPa.s(cp) (Brookfield LVT)
Drying time: approx. 15 min at 20 ºC
Spray gun: e.g.Walther, Pilot III
Nozzle: 1.0 mm
Air pressure: 3-4 bar
Stirring: stir before and during use
Other application methods: are possible
Cleanup: Use solvents such as xylene or perchloroethylene to remove
Thinkbond 27MS before heat is applied.
TOXICITY:
Breathing vapors for a prolonged period is harmful to health.
Use Thinkbond 927MS only with facial breathing mask, gloves,
protection glass and
appropriate ventilation.
Continuous contact with the skin may cause irritation.
Adhesive Thinkbond 927MS may be fatal if swallowed.
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting but call a physician.
STORAGE:
Keep container tightly closed during storage and always keep away
from heat sources. Storage in
an environment below 10ºC increases the shelf life of the adhesive.
