Beckhoff ek1100 Used to connect to the EtherCAT terminal module
The Beckhoff EK1100 is a high-performance coupler designed for
industrial automation and electronics manufacturing with a wide
range of applications and powerful features.
Main functions and applications
Connection function: The EK1100 is used to connect the EtherCAT
fieldbus protocol with the EtherCAT terminal module to convert the
transmitted packets from Ethernet 100BASE-TX into E-bus signals. A
site consists of a coupler and any number of EtherCAT terminal
modules, which are automatically detected and individually
displayed in the process image.
Data transfer: The EK1100 supports high-speed data transfer with
data transfer rates up to 100Mbit/s with extremely low latency
(about 1µs). This makes it excellent in industrial automation
applications that require fast response and high-precision control.
Extensibility: The number of EtherCAT terminal modules throughout
the system can be up to 65,535, and line or star topologies can be
extended or set through the EtherCAT Topology extension module or
EtherCAT extension module.
