A691 2-1/4CR specification covers carbon and alloy steel pipe,
electrofusion welded with added filler metal, suitable for high
temperature and pressure service.
A691Gr2-1/4CrCL22 is a CR-MO heat-resistant steel. Its basic
ingredients are 2.25% CR and 1% MO, which is equivalent to
SA-335P22.
Heat-resistant steel pipes can be divided into three categories:
low-alloy heat-resistant steel pipes, medium-alloy heat-resistant
steel pipes and high-alloy heat-resistant steel pipes according to
the mass fraction of their alloy components.
A691 2-1/4CR welded steel pipe covers pipes with an outside
diameter of 16 inches [400 mm] and wall thicknesses up to 3 inches
[75 mm]. Pipe with other dimensions may be supplied provided it
complies with all other requirements of this code.
