Application areas
Adsorption of organic matter: activated carbon can adsorb organic
pollutants in wastewater, such as phenols, aldehydes, hydrocarbons,
etc., and reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological
oxygen demand (BOD) of wastewater.
Removal of heavy metals: activated carbon can adsorb and fix heavy
metal ions in wastewater, such as lead, mercury, chromium, etc., to
prevent them from entering the environment or causing harm to human
body.
Decolourisation: For wastewater containing colour pigments,
activated carbon can effectively remove the chromaticity and make
the wastewater clear and transparent.
Deodorisation: The adsorption effect of activated carbon can also
remove odorous substances in wastewater and improve the smell of
wastewater.
In addition, activated carbon can be used in combination with other
wastewater treatment technologies, such as biological treatment and
chemical precipitation, to achieve better wastewater treatment
results.
