l Proper density
The density of ceramic beads is between steel shot and glass shot.
The density of ceramic beads is: 3.80~3.90g/cm³, the density of
steel shot is: 7.3-7.6g/cm³, and the density of glass shot is:
2.2~2.8g/ cm³.
The density of ceramic beads brings it many advantages. It can not
only perform shot peening treatment for low-strength structural
parts, but also shot peening treatment for high-strength structural
parts. It can also be used as the preferred medium for secondary
shot peening. High-strength structural parts are shot peened. In
some cases, ceramic beads can obtain shot peening effects that
steel shots and glass shots cannot achieve, especially for
non-ferrous metal materials such as aluminum alloys and titanium
alloys.
High hardness results in higher production efficiency, and the
overall cost of shot peening is lower than glass beads.
