Overview
SUS630 (also known as Alloy 17-4PH) is a martensitic
precipitation-hardening stainless steel, celebrated for its
excellent combination of high strength, corrosion resistance, and
heat resistance. Our hot-rolled SUS630 stainless steel plates are
available in standard thicknesses of 4.0mm, 5.0mm, 6.0mm, 8.0mm,
and 10.0mm, making them suitable for demanding applications
requiring both structural integrity and resistance to environmental
wear.
Chemical Composition (Typical, %)
SUS630 stainless steel features a precisely balanced chemical
composition that enables its unique properties:
- C: 0.07 max
- Cr: 15.0 – 17.5
- Ni: 3.0 – 5.0
- Cu: 3.0 – 5.0
- Nb + Ta: 0.15 – 0.45
- Mn: 1.0 max
- Si: 1.0 max
- P: 0.04 max
- S: 0.03 max
Mechanical Properties
The mechanical performance of SUS630 (after appropriate heat
treatment, e.g., H900) is as follows:
- Tensile Strength: ≥ 1100 MPa
- Yield Strength (0.2% offset): ≥ 1000 MPa
- Elongation: ≥ 10%
- Hardness: ≥ 36 HRC
Product Standards
Our SUS630 stainless steel plates are manufactured in compliance
with international standards, ensuring consistent quality and
reliability:
- ASTM A693 / ASME SA693
- JIS G4303
- GB/T 1220
- EN 10088-1
Equivalent Grades
SUS630 is recognized by the following equivalent designations
worldwide:
- UNS: S17400
- ASTM: 17-4PH
- EN: 1.4542
- GB/T: 0Cr17Ni4Cu4Nb
- DIN: X5CrNiCuNb16-4
Product Features
- High Strength: Achieves exceptional strength through precipitation
hardening, outperforming many austenitic stainless steels (e.g.,
304, 316) without sacrificing ductility.
- Good Corrosion Resistance: Offers resistance to atmospheric
corrosion, mild acids, and freshwater, comparable to 304 stainless
steel, with improved performance in certain industrial
environments.
- Heat Treatability: Can be hardened via a simple low-temperature
heat treatment (aging process), allowing for precise control over
mechanical properties.
- Hot-Rolled Advantage: Hot-rolled plates provide a rough, scaled
surface ideal for applications requiring subsequent machining or
forming, with consistent thickness across the specified range
(4.0mm to 10.0mm).
- Versatility: Suitable for both structural and functional components
due to its balanced strength and corrosion resistance.
Laser Cutting Service
To meet custom project requirements, we offer high-precision laser
cutting for our SUS630 plates. This service allows for:
- Custom sizes (beyond standard thicknesses and dimensions)
- Complex shapes (e.g., holes, notches, irregular contours)
- Tight tolerances (±0.1mm) for seamless integration into assemblies
- Clean, burr-free edges to minimize post-processing needs
Applications
SUS630 stainless steel plates are widely used in industries
requiring a mix of strength and corrosion resistance, including:
- Aerospace: Aircraft components, landing gear parts, and structural
brackets.
- Oil & Gas: Downhole tools, valve stems, and offshore equipment.
- Chemical Processing: Pumps, valves, and fittings exposed to
moderate corrosives.
- Medical Devices: Surgical instruments and equipment (due to
biocompatibility and sterilizability).
- Automotive: High-performance engine parts and exhaust systems.
- Marine Engineering: Fasteners and hardware for boats and offshore
structures.
Packaging
To ensure product integrity during storage and transportation, our
SUS630 plates are packaged as follows:
- Individual plates are wrapped in moisture-proof paper or plastic
film to prevent rust.
- Plates are bundled with steel straps for stability, with protective
spacers between layers to avoid scratching.
- For bulk orders, plates are packed in fumigated wooden crates or on
pallets (compliant with international shipping standards).
- Each package is labeled with key details: material grade,
thickness, size, heat number, and order reference.
