The Smart Film (PDLC Film) Series sold by Westglass is a high-performance optical film based on liquid crystal electric field response technology. By hermetically encapsulating liquid crystal molecules between two conductive films, it enables instant switching of glass transmittance via voltage changes: when powered, liquid crystal molecules align orderly within 0.2 seconds, achieving up to 91% light transmittance for a transparent state; when unpowered, random molecular distribution scatters light, creating a uniform frosted effect with transmittance below 5%. Simply applied to glass surfaces, it upgrades ordinary glass with "intelligent control, privacy protection, and energy efficiency"—ideal for architectural curtain walls, automotive glass, residential partitions, and commercial displays.
