I. Process flow
1. Pretreatment stage
ABS workpieces are completed in sequence:
① Ultrasonic degreasing → ② Chemical roughening → ③ Neutralization
→ ④ Activation → ⑤ Chemical copper/nickel plating.
2. Electroplating stage
Multi-layer metal deposition: acid copper plating (10-20μm) →
semi-bright nickel (5-15μm) → decorative chrome plating
(0.1-0.3μm);
Post-treatment: water washing → passivation → hot air drying, the
coating thickness deviation is ≤5%.
2. Technical parameters
Operation efficiency: daily production capacity of 500-2000 pieces
per line (depending on the size of the workpiece and the thickness
of the coating);
Current density: 0.5-2A/dm² in the chemical plating stage, 1-5A/dm²
in the electroplating stage;
Temperature control accuracy: plating solution temperature ±1℃,
drying temperature 80-120℃ (PID algorithm control);
Applicable substrates: engineering plastics such as ABS, PC/ABS
alloy.
3. Equipment design features
Modular layout: supports station expansion and plating type
switching (such as imitation gold, matte nickel, etc.);
Low energy consumption design: adopts pulse rectifier power supply,
which saves 20%-30% energy compared with traditional DC power
supply;
Environmental protection integration: equipped with acid mist
collection tower (purification efficiency ≥95%) and wastewater
reuse system;
Intelligent control: PLC+HMI integration, supports real-time
monitoring and data tracing of process parameters (time,
temperature, current);
Fault self-diagnosis system, automatically generates production
reports and alarm logs.
4. Applicable scenarios
Industries: automotive interior parts (door handles, signs),
bathroom accessories, home appliance buttons, electronic housings,
etc.;
Coating types: high-gloss chrome (decorative), matte nickel
(wear-resistant), functional alloy coating (corrosion-resistant).
1. Pretreatment system
1. Ultrasonic cleaning tank is used to remove oil and impurities on
the surface of ABS plastic, with a cleaning accuracy of 5μm.
2. Chemical roughening tank uses chromic acid solution to corrode
the ABS surface to form a microporous structure to enhance the
adhesion of the coating.
3. Activation tank catalyzes the surface through palladium salt or
silver ammonia solution to generate an active metal layer,
providing reaction sites for subsequent electroplating.
2. Electroplating tank system
1. Multilayer plating tank group is configured with copper plating,
nickel plating and chrome plating tanks in sequence. The tank body
is made of acid-resistant PP material, resistant to high
temperature (≤70℃) and corrosive liquid.
2. Suspended anode titanium basket loads metal particles (such as
copper balls and nickel blocks), and is equipped with a dot matrix
electrode layout to ensure uniform current distribution.
3. Circulation filtration system magnetic pump with 5μm filter to
maintain the cleanliness of the plating solution and reduce
impurity interference.
3. Conveying and hoisting system
1. The gantry crane and the circular track can be precisely moved
through PLC control (positioning error ≤ 1mm), and the beat time is
adjustable (1-5 minutes/station).
2. The rotating hanger self-locking chuck or magnetic clamp fixes
the workpiece and supports 360° rotation to ensure uniform coating
of complex parts (such as car signs).
4. Control system
1. The PLC+HMI integrated touch screen sets the process parameters
(temperature, current density, time), and monitors the pH value and
ion concentration of the plating solution in real time.
2. The temperature control module PID algorithm controls the
plating solution temperature (accuracy ±1℃), with electric heating
pipes or steam heating.
5. Auxiliary system
1. The drainage and ventilation system classifies and discharges
acid/alkali wastewater, and the purification efficiency of the acid
mist collection tower is ≥95%.
2. Safety protection devices anti-collision sensors, emergency stop
buttons and leakage protection to ensure stable operation of the
equipment. Key parameters and design features
