1. Material Selection
Glass vials (main choice)
Borosilicate glass grade I:
Resistant to acids and alkalis, with strong thermal shock
resistance (suitable for freeze-drying process), high transparency.
Complies with the standards of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, USP/EP,
and is used for injectable drugs.
Borosilicate glass grade III:
Lower cost, suitable for oral liquids, non-injection purposes (such
as health supplements, freeze-dried powders).
Plastic vials (PET/COP)
Advantages: Lightweight, not prone to breakage, suitable for
travel-sized or non-phototoxic contents.
Disadvantages: High permeability, requires aluminum foil bags for
protection during long-term storage.
2. Key Component Parameters
Component 10ml Parameter 30ml Parameter
Stopper 20mm Butyl Stopper (halogenated/non-halogenated) Same as
above or 24mm
Aluminum Cap 20mm Open Aluminum Cap (pull-off/ordinary) Same as
above or 24mm
Plastic Cap Selectable anti-theft ring or child safety lock design
Same as above
3. Special Process Requirements
Aseptic Treatment: Sterilization by gamma rays or heat removal from
a high-temperature oven (a sterilization certificate must be
provided).
Low Temperature Resistance: The vials used for freeze-drying must
not rupture at -80℃ (glass material preferably grade I).
Light Resistance: Optional amber glass or coated with a
light-protective film.
Printing: Silk-screening of scale lines and brand logos (must be
resistant to high-temperature disinfection).
