A23 23A 12V Alkaline Battery Chemistry:
Almost universally Alkaline chemistry. (Less commonly, you might find Lithium versions for longer life/extreme temperatures).
Both ends are positive (+) spring terminals.
Unlike most cylindrical batteries that have a flat negative (-) end, both ends of a 23A battery look identical with small metal springs.
The outer metal casing is the negative (-) terminal.
Contains eight (8) small 1.5V LR932 (or equivalent) button cells stacked in series inside the metal casing to achieve the 12V output.

Relatively low capacity due to its small size and high voltage.
Usually around 40-55 milliamp-hours (mAh) at a standard discharge rate.
