Araldite® AV 138M-1 / Hardener HV 998 is a two-part epoxy adhesive
known for its high strength, chemical resistance, and temperature
tolerance, suitable for bonding various materials.
Product Introduction
Araldite® AV 138M-1 / Hardener HV 998 is a paste-like adhesive that
cures at room temperature and maintains excellent performance even
at elevated temperatures. With low emissions and volatility, it is
ideal for applications in electronics, telecommunications, and
aerospace where environmental standards are critical. Its
thixotropic properties allow it to fill gaps effectively, ensuring
strong bonds.
Special Product Attributes
The adhesive offers outstanding chemical resistance and thermal
stability (up to 120°C) upon full curing, along with high lap shear
strength (>11 MPa). Its thixotropic nature makes it suitable for
vertical or overhead applications, while low volatility ensures
compatibility with enclosed environments like electronic devices.
Application Scenarios
Araldite® AV 138M-1 / Hardener HV 998 is widely used for bonding
metals, ceramics, glass, rubber, and rigid plastics, particularly
in industrial equipment, automotive components, electronics, and
aerospace structures. For instance, in electronics, it is applied
in PCB encapsulation and sensor mounting; in automotive, it bonds
engine parts and brake systems.
