Araldite® AV 1580/HV 1580 is a two-part epoxy resin putty with high strength, low coefficient of expansion, and excellent chemical resistance. The product is color-coded (yellow resin and blue hardener) for easy mixing, curing into a uniform pale green material. It is suitable for bonding and gap-filling in various structural materials.

Part 2: Product Description

Araldite AV/HV 1580 GB is a cold-setting epoxy resin putty that is easy to work with. Upon curing, it forms a tough, durable material with excellent dimensional stability and resistance to chemical attack. It bonds strongly with most structural materials (e.g., metals, glass, plastics, wood, dry concrete, rubber, etc.). The product is ideal for gap filling, pipe repairs, cable jointing, vibration-resistant part balancing, and encapsulation of small electrical components.

Part 3: Special Properties

Araldite AV/HV 1580 GB has a coefficient of expansion similar to copper and steel, making it suitable for cryogenic applications, such as electrical equipment at low temperatures. The cured putty can be machined (e.g., filed, sanded). Its usable life after mixing is short (approx. 12-25 minutes, depending on bulk), but this can be extended by spreading the putty into a thin layer or rolling it into a cord-like shape.
