Polyoxyethylene sorbitan esters

Polyoxyethylene sorbitan esters also known as polysorbates, are
ethoxylated sorbitan esters. They are non-ionic hydrophilic
surfactants that are commonly used as oil-in-water (O/W)
emulsifier.
Our wide product range of polysorbates can be utilized for numerous
applications, including, but not limited to, acting as emulsifiers,
stabilizers and foaming agents in bread improver and cake oil;
stabilize special emulsification in cosmetics; for polysorbate with
high HLB values, they can be used as solutizers for essence; and
for the ones with low HLB values, they act as emulsifiers for
mineral oils. Polysorbates are considered to be non-toxic and safe
food additives when used appropriately. Our polysorbates are
sourced from vegetable/vegan ingredients.
Concocted surfactant mixtures can be made by combining different
portions of polysorbate and sorbitan esters, which can be tailored
for specific product formulations.

Performance

A hydrophilic non-ionic emulsifier, safe and non-toxic,
non-irritating. Depending on the type of fatty acid, a series of
products can be obtained with HLB values ranging from 9.6 to 16.7,
which can be dissolved or dispersed in polar organic solvents such
as water and alcohol. It has emulsifying, solubilizing, and
stabilizing effects.

Applications

1) Tween series products are widely used as emulsifiers in food,
cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and other industries. When used in
combination with Span, they can be formulated to suit the
emulsifiers required for various emulsions.
2) As a food additive: Widely used in cake oils, bread improvers,
and various beverages, serving roles such as emulsifying,
stabilizing, and foaming.
3) As a cosmetic additive: Can stably emulsify various oils and
fats, high HLB value Tweens are also used as solubilizers for
fragrances and mild detergents, while low HLB value Tweens have
special emulsifying properties for mineral oils.
Tweens are used in pharmaceutical excipients as solubilizing,
emulsifying, and wetting agents.
4) Also used in other industries, such as textile auxiliaries
(oils, softeners), and paint additives.
