FMVSS 302 Automotive Materials Horizontal Combustion Tester Introduction:
This test equipment is designed and manufactured according to the
relevant provisions of FMVSS 302 and ISO3795 standards. It is
suitable for the horizontal combustion test of interior materials
of automobiles (sedans, multi-purpose passenger vehicles, trucks
and buses). The automobile interior material combustion tester is
composed of the test part and the control part, and adopts an
integrated design, which is convenient for on-site installation and
commissioning. The control system has a high degree of automation
and has an automatic ignition function. The temperature and time
are digitally displayed, which is convenient for observation and
recording, and is stable and reliable to use.

The test adopts the horizontal combustion method, using a Bunsen
burner to generate a constant flame (height 38mm) to ignite a
horizontally fixed sample, and measure the relationship between the
flame spread distance and time. Key parameters include:
1. Flame application time: 15 seconds standard burning time
2. Burning rate calculation: calculated based on the time
difference between the flame front passing the 100mm and 200mm
marks
3. Self-extinguishing characteristic evaluation: record the
continuous burning time after the flame leaves the sample

1. Qualified determination:

- Any sample can be directly judged as qualified when the burning
distance does not exceed 51mm (2 inches)

- Grade B: 51-100mm/min (mainstream automobile qualified line)
