Fire pump sets are specialized pumps primarily installed in fire
trucks, fire suppression systems, or other fire protection
facilities, designed for conveying fire-fighting liquids such as
water and foam solution agents. The fire pump set system consists
of a main pump coupled to an electric motor, a standby pump coupled
to a diesel engine, a jockey pump, a pressure vessel, a controller
for manual or automatic system operation, and standard accessories
mounted on a base frame. The electric pump can be configured as a
single-stage pump, horizontal split-case pump, end suction pump, or
multistage pump, with materials including cast iron, stainless
steel, and bronze impellers. The diesel engine pump provides
equivalent capacity and head performance to the electric pump,
equipped with a fuel tank, water tank, fan, and control box. The
jockey pump, available in horizontal or vertical configurations,
has a smaller capacity but a higher head pressure than both the
electric and diesel engine pumps. The control panel offers
automatic control of the electric pump, diesel engine pump, and
jockey pump, with overload and overcurrent protection. The system
also includes various accessories such as check valves, gate
valves, pressure vessels (commonly rated at 0.6MPa, 1.0MPa, or
1.6MPa), pressure gauges, pressure sensors, common suction and
discharge piping, flexible joints, flanges, and a shared base
mounting system. This comprehensive design ensures reliable and
efficient performance for fire protection applications.
