NDT radiographic testing is a nondestructive testing (NDT)that uses
x ray to examine the internal structure of some materials. The term
NDT stands for non-destructive testing. This type of testing is
often used in the manufacturing and aerospace industries. NDT X-ray
testing can be used to detect a variety of different flaws,
including cracks, porosity, and inclusions.
Radiographic Testing (RT)
This approach provides a simple and traceable representation of
internal voids and fabrication defects, making it ideal for
visualizing the internal architecture of components, materials, and
assemblies. It is utilized to examine raw materials (such as
castings and forgings), fabricated parts, and assemblies (for
issues like misalignment or missing internal components), while
also detecting time-related degradation in in-service parts.
Similar to other X-ray technologies, this method requires access to
both sides of an object and generates a permanent inspection record
for review.
