Economizer Introduction

A boiler economizer is a heating component in flue ducts that heats feed water to saturated water by absorbing low-temperature flue gas heat, lowering exhaust temperature, saving energy, and improving efficiency. Steel tube types (32–51mm carbon steel, sometimes finned for better heat transfer) have no pressure limits and can be boiling type, primarily recovering boiler waste heat.
Designed to boost boiler efficiency and cut long-term operational costs, economizers preheat water to reduce energy needed for steam generation. While daily savings are small, cumulative impacts are significant. They can be factory-installed or retrofitted as waste heat recovery devices, ensuring unused heat is recycled.
