Fiberglass geogrid is a high-performance geosynthetic material made
of glass fiber through weaving, coating and other processes. It has
excellent mechanical properties and weather resistance.
Key characteristics
1. High strength and low elongation
- The tensile strength can reach 65-100KN, and the elongation at
break is less than 3%, which can effectively disperse the load
stress and enhance the bearing capacity of the soil.
- The inorganic characteristics of glass fiber give it stable
physical and chemical properties, corrosion resistance, aging
resistance, and long service life.
2. Thermal stability and creep resistance
- The melting point of glass fiber exceeds 1000℃, and its performance
is stable at high temperature, which is suitable for asphalt paving
and other scenes.
- No long-term creep, and the structure can still maintain stability
under long-term load.
3. Compatibility with asphalt
- The surface is coated with modified asphalt, which is tightly
combined with the asphalt mixture to prevent interlayer separation
and enhance the integrity of the road surface.

Main application scenarios
1. Road engineering
- Asphalt pavement reinforcement: delay reflective cracks, reduce
rutting and fatigue cracks, and extend service life.
- Old road reconstruction: add to cement concrete or old asphalt
pavement to inhibit crack expansion.
- Roadbed reinforcement: improve the bearing capacity of soft soil
foundation, control settlement, and evenly distribute stress.
2. Protection and slope engineering
- Used for retaining walls, slope protection, riverbank/coastal
protection, to prevent landslides and soil erosion.
3 Special scenarios
- Airport runway/parking lot: enhance the ground's compressive
strength and reduce deformation caused by vehicle loads.
- Environmental protection engineering: slope protection and drainage
system reinforcement of landfills and sewage treatment plants.
Construction methods and technical advantages
1. Construction methods
- Anchoring method: Fix the grille by fixing iron sheets and nails,
suitable for the junction of new and old pavements.
- Self-adhesive method: Directly stick to the base layer, simplify
the construction process, and do not require special equipment.
2. Technical advantages
- Delaying reflective cracks: Dispersing stress through the hard
interlayer effect and reducing crack expansion.
- Anti-rutting and low-temperature cracking: Limit aggregate
displacement and improve the deformation resistance of asphalt
mixture.
Selection and precautions
Specification selection: The mesh size should be 0.5-1 times the
maximum particle size of the asphalt surface layer to ensure
effective interlocking.
Construction environment: The base layer needs to be cleaned to
avoid sharp objects damaging the grille; the filler should be
covered in time after laying to prevent ultraviolet aging.
