I. Installation and commissioning specifications

‌Installation direction requirements‌

It needs to be installed upright on a horizontal pipe, and the water flow direction marked on the valve body must be consistent with the actual medium flow direction; if the water quality contains impurities, a filter needs to be installed at the water inlet.

‌Pressure test protection‌

When the system is pressure tested, if the test pressure exceeds the nominal pressure of the pressure relief valve, the valve cut-off device needs to be closed in advance to avoid damage to the valve body.

When the outlet pipeline length exceeds 20 meters, it is recommended to increase the diameter of the water discharge pipe to prevent back pressure from affecting stability.

II. Key points for operation and maintenance

‌Working condition monitoring‌

Regularly check whether the pressure after the valve is overpressure. It is recommended to add a secondary pressure reducing valve within 4 meters of the outlet and configure an expansion water tank to absorb water hammer impact.

In high-temperature systems, a check valve needs to be installed between the pressure relief valve and the expansion water tank to avoid interference from hot medium backflow.

‌Maintenance cycle‌

Check the aging of the seals every quarter and replace the failed O-rings or rubber gaskets in time.

When out of service for a long time, the pipeline medium needs to be drained and anti-rust grease should be applied to the inner wall of the valve body.
