TEC-5521C Defibrillator Accessories
Description
Purpose of the paddle: To transmit electric shock energy, the
electrical energy released by the defibrillator is conducted to the
patient's chest through the electrode plate on the handle, used to
terminate fatal arrhythmias. The purpose of the electric shock is
to instantly "depolarize" the heart and help restore normal heart
rhythm. Some defibrillator handles are integrated with electrodes,
which can monitor the patient's electrocardiogram (ECG) before and
after the shock, helping to determine the type of heart rhythm.
Operation Points:
1. Placement:
-Anterior lateral position: right subclavian (right edge of
sternum)+left midaxillary line (apex).
-Anterior posterior position: left edge of sternum+left scapula of
back (used for special positions or implantable device patients).
2. Contact requirements:
-Keep close to the skin and avoid air gaps (otherwise burns or
ineffective electric shocks may occur).
-Use conductive gel or self-adhesive electrode to reduce impedance.
3. Safe operation: Ensure that no one comes into contact with the
patient or bed during electric shock (to avoid accidental strikes).
Notice:
-Energy selection: Adjust energy based on patient type
(adult/child) and heart rhythm (e.g. bidirectional waves are
usually 120-200J).
-Cleaning and maintenance: After use, it is necessary to clean and
disinfect to avoid residual conductive substances from corroding
the electrodes.
-Avoid empty discharge: Do not discharge when not in contact with
the patient, as it may damage the equipment.
